I 2000 udgav AFI The Art of Drowning som kom på Billboard Charts som nummer 174 . The Days of the Phoenix blev udgivet som en single og video for at gøre reklame for albummet. The Days of the Phoenix solgte, ligesom “Totalimmortal”, nogenlunde godt og skaffede bandet PR både i TV og radio.
