Así sucede en Ghost in the Machine (1981), un disco producido por Hugh Padgham que incluye los sencillos « Spirits in the Material World », « Invisible Sun » y « Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic ». El éxito permanecía invariable en el Viejo Continente alcanzando el número 2 en los Estados Unidos.
