Em 2000, lançou seu terceiro álbum Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars , tendo sido bem recebido pela crítica, principalmente por seu single “Weapon of Choice”, que recebeu um videoclipe com a presença de Christopher Walken . O videoclipe foi eleito como Vídeo do Ano no MTV Video Music Awards de 2001 .
