Cook grunnla Beat International , et band av studiomusikere, inkludert vokalist Lindy Layton, Lester Noel, DJ. Baptiste, rapper MC Wildeski og keyboardist Andy Boucher. Deres første album, Let Them Eat Bingo , inkluderte blant annet #1 singelen Dub Be Good to Me , som ble kontroversiell fordi den hadde kopiert bassnotene fra The Guns of Brixton som var skrevet av The Clash . Sangen lånte også tekst fra SOS Bands Just Be Good to Me . I 1991 ga gruppa ut et nytt album kalt Excursion on the Version , som ikke hadde samme suksess som det første albumet.
