A fictionalised depiction of Happy Mondays is featured in the 2002 film 24 Hour Party People , with Danny Cunningham as Shaun Ryder and Paul Popplewell as Paul Ryder. Paul Ryder himself had a cameo role in the film as a gangster and Rowetta appeared in the film as herself.
