2020 saw the last performance of the remaining original band members, Montalo (Trevor Taylor) and Gra Scoresby. The concert was at Newcastle’s famous rock bar, Trillions, and Luther Beltz retired soon after.
On 6 December 2019, an extended version of the album was released with 11 new songs titled Doom Days (This Got Out Of Hand) .
On 4 December 2019, the band announced they would be touring with Mötley Crüe , Poison , and Joan Jett on The Stadium Tour in summer 2020, which was later rescheduled to 2021, and then to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
On 2 December 2019, the band released a 15th anniversary edition of Young for Eternity and All or Nothing with previously unheard and unreleased material on CD, digital download, and limited vinyl editions.
In December 2019, Muse released Origin of Muse , a box set comprising remastered versions of Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry plus previously unreleased material. For the 20th anniversary of Origin of Symmetry in June 2021, Muse released a remixed and remastered version, Origin of Symmetry: XX Anniversary RemiXX .
However, Coldplay performed a one-off show on 25 November 2019 for the charity ClientEarth at London’s Natural History Museum .
The lineup of Earl, Bassett, Huhn and O’Quinn went on to record a live record in November 2019 called 8 Days on the Road . The album was released in July 2021.
On 25 October 2019, Pinch announced his departure after 20 years with the band. His last gig was the Damned’s show at the London Palladium on 27 October 2019.
The fifth single from Doom Days , ” Another Place “, was released on 25 October 2019 with Canadian singer Alessia Cara , as a rework of the original song on the album, with the second verse being changed to one written by Cara.
On 23 October 2019, the album’s track list was revealed on the advertisements from local newspapers in the United Kingdom; those included the Daily Post in North Wales (with whom Buckland once had a holiday job) and Express & Echo in Exeter (Martin’s hometown).
