In 1990, Queen ended their contract with Capitol and signed with Hollywood Records ; through the deal, Disney acquired the North American distribution rights to Queen’s catalogue for $10 million, and remains the group’s recorded-music rights owner and distributor in the US and Canada; the band retained ownership of the global rights through the UK-based Queen Productions Ltd.
