In June 2024, the band released a stand-alone single entitled “Flirting Again”, marking their first new music since The High Life . On 22 November 2024, Bloc Party officially released a compilation entitled A Weekend In The City: B-Sides . The demos and B-sides from that era of the band had been available online for years previously as a bootleg compilation, sometimes referred to as Another Weekend in the City , but had never seen an official release. The same day, the band removed the album from streaming, stemming from audio quality concerns. The compilation was ultimately re-released on 20 December 2024.
