The album was recorded in New Jersey . The album, titled Riot! , was released on June 12, 2007, entering the Billboard 200 at number 20 and the UK charts at number 24. The album sold 44,000 units its first week in the United States. The name Riot! had been chosen because it meant “a sudden outburst of uncontrolled emotion,” and it was a word that “summed it all up.” ” Misery Business ” was released as the first single from the album. According to when discussing what Misery Business was about, Williams stated, “When I was 13 or 14 and I had a crush on Josh, he didn’t like me back,” Williams said. “He would go hang out with his girlfriend, who I wrote ‘Misery Business’ about because I was a dick.” In the summer of 2007, Paramore participated in their third Warped Tour, and posted journals of their experiences on yourhereblog for MTV.
