March 2009 saw the release of her second collaboration studio album with John Parish A Woman a Man Walked By . Written in the vein of punk blues, folk and experimental rock, it was preceded by the lead single Black Hearted Love . As with their first effort, Parish wrote all of the music and played most of the instruments, leaving Harvey to the lyrics and singing.
