“Suspect Device” was released in February 1978. A copy of the single was sent to John Peel . He played it repeatedly leading to a distribution deal through Rough Trade Records . The single was released on the band’s own Rigid Digits label, re-released a month later with the support of Rough Trade and sold over 30,000 copies.
