On January 17, 2019, B’z was announced as the first, and so far only, Japanese headliner for Japan’s Summer Sonic festival in its twenty-year history. The band previously played the festival in 2007, 2009, and with Aerosmith during a special event, dubbed “Aerosonic”, in 2013. On April 10, the band announced their long-awaited follow-up to Dinosaur, New Love . The album was released on May 29, 2019, and featured new backing band members who made their debut on that year’s “B’z Live Gym 2019 -Whole Lotta New Love-” tour, as well as a guest appearance by Aerosmith ‘s Joe Perry on “Rain & Dream”.
