In June 1993, Fripp began to assemble a larger version of King Crimson featuring Belew and Levin, Chapman Stick player Trey Gunn (a veteran of Fripp’s Guitar Craft courses and a session musician on The First Day ) and drummer Jerry Marotta , with whom Fripp and Levin had played in Peter Gabriel’s band.
