released retail version of In Rainbows

In Rainbows made its way to the shops in the UK and the States in late 2007/early 2008 on XL/ TBD and was a massive hit – the highest chart placing they’d ever had in the States, and their fifth number-one album in the UK, oh and it went on to sell three million copies in the States in the first year . People raved about it – calling it more accessible and lyrically personal than some of their other work. It won a Mercury Prize and in 2009 won two Grammys Best Alternative Music Album and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package (there were plenty of nominations too!). Yorke and Jonny Greenwood even showed up at the Grammys with a live band – it was the USCAL So Marching band – to play “15 Steps”
