In April 2014, DMB performed five shows in Australia, including the West Coast Blues N Roots Festival and the Byron Bay Bluesfest.
The band embarked on a North American reunion tour in 2012, playing venues in California, Jersey City , and Toronto . They also performed in Dubai on two separate occasions, as well as Singapore in 2013 and London in April 2014.
Also in April 2014, the band performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California .
On 1 April 2014, the Official Charts Company announced that Bad Blood was the biggest selling digital album of 2013, and Number 11 in the over-all Official Artist Albums Top 40 of 2013.
On April 1, 2014, DeLonge announced via his official Facebook page that the band’s fifth album would be released on October 31, 2014.
Later that month, it was announced that the release of Offline had been pushed back to 30 May.
The band’s fifth studio album, titled Education, Education, Education & War was released on 31 March 2014.
Fall Out Boy covered Elton John’s (who was featured on the Save Rock And Roll title track) song ” Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting ” for inclusion in the fortieth anniversary re-release edition of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road on March 25, 2014, alongside covers by different artists.
On March 21 and 22, 2014, the band played a two-day concert at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo, where they also played and announced the future release of their new single “Everlasting”.
On 17 March, Jagger’s long-time partner L’Wren Scott died suddenly, resulting in the cancellation and rescheduling of the opening tour dates to October.
