On September 4, 2026, System of a Down released “Johnny”, their first material in six years, and is set to release their 25th anniversary album of Toxicity .
The album was released on August 14.
Along with the announcement, the album’s second single, “Cut_it”, was released.
On 4 August 2026, the band announced their upcoming seventh album Anemoia , scheduled to be released on 30 October 2026.
Its music video was released four days later.
” Front Toward Enemy ” was released as the album’s second single on July 17.
The band had also played a no-barricade release show on the same day at B.E.C. Arena in Manchester , with acts such as Static Dress , Showing Teeth and Dying Wish , as well as founding guitarist Curtis Ward’s new band Still in Love.
The re-recording, titled Count Your Blessings | Repented , was released on 10 July 2026.
In July 2026, System of a Down announced a tour of Australia and New Zealand, supported by Faith No More . The tour is scheduled for January–February 2027.
I Prevail collaborated with Elfeky on a standalone single titled “Paradise,” which was released on June 26, 2026.
