In August 2026, Daltrey revealed to the audience at a solo show in Las Vegas that The Who had recently rehearsed with Starkey for a possible European leg of the farewell tour, with Starkey later confirming Daltrey’s comments.
Starkey was fired in May 2025, to be replaced by Scott Devours (who had played in Daltrey’s solo touring band) for the remainder of the year; Starkey remarked he had been fired.
The band announced their North American tour in mid-2025 would be their last.
