On August 7, the band premiered two new songs, “Silence in the Snow” and “Blind Leading the Blind” during their performance at Bloodstock Open Air .
In August 2015, the band found L-G Persson, from the Swedish heavy metal/power metal band The Storyteller and ex Steel Attack from Gävle , Sweden, to replace Manton.
In August 2015, Bassist Mike Inez said that the band had been “throwing around riffs for a new record” and “taking it nice and slow”.
Also in August 2015 Godsmack announced a new leg of North American dates that would keep the band busy through mid-November.
The fourth and final wave of studio album reissues, Presence , In Through the Out Door , and Coda , were released on 31 July 2015.
On July 31, 2015, the band revealed the track list and the album artwork, and Silence in the Snow was made available for pre-order.
This information was confirmed on July 30 when the band premiered the music video for the title track once the countdown ended.
Europe released the War of Kings Special Edition together with Live Performance from Wacken Open Air Festival which was performed on 29 July 2015. The digital version was released on 27 November 2015 by UDR Records and the Blu-ray & DVD version released in early 2016.
An unofficial picture surfaced online on July 29, suggesting the new album title to be Silence in the Snow and revealing three new featured songs: “Silence in the Snow”, “Dead and Gone” and “Until the World Goes Cold”. This picture also suggested a release date of October 2, 2015.
