Thayer confirmed the band’s recent studio activities in a September 2026 interview with Guitar World , saying: “We did record a great new song that Paul wrote. That’s probably about as much as I can tell you right now.”
Simmons confirmed in May 2026 that the band has been in the studio recording new music that will be used for the Kiss avatar shows, which are set to take place in 2028.
On March 3, it was announced the band would tour later in the year with Sebastian Bach (formerly of Skid Row ) as the vocalist.

However, on February 5, 2026, the band announced that they had cancelled their entire world tour due to Dee Snider’s health, and that the future of the band would be “determined in the next several weeks”.
On 22 January 2026, the band released new single “Rejoice”. It is the lead single of the band’s 13th studio album, which was set for release in early 2027; Collen later stated, however, that it may not be released until 2028.
On July 14, 2026, it was announced Jizzy Pearl would be departing the band after fulfilling the band’s 2026 tour dates. The band also announced they are searching for a new vocalist.
In an interview with MusicRadar on December 11, 2025, Thayer stated that there was a “ton happening behind the scenes” for Kiss, but that he was “unsure” if the band were going to release new music.
a one-off unmasked show was announced for a special event called “Kiss Army Storms Vegas” at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas which featured former members Kulick, Thayer and Singer as guests and took place from November 14 to 16, 2025.
