For the 50th anniversary celebrations for Saturday Night Live on February 14, Novoselic, Grohl and Smear reunited to perform “Smells Like Teen Spirit” with Post Malone .

Just recently , on January 30, 2025 ( yeah – it ‘s still a bit ahead of schedule – but give it a few months and it ‘ll be here all over the place ) , Novoselic , Grohl and Smear reunited to perform at the Fire Aid benefit concert in Los Angeles . St Vincent joined in on ” Breed ” , Kim Gordon took on ” School ” , Joan Jett sang along to ” Territorial Pissings ” , and even Grohl ‘s daughter Violet got in on the action on ” All Apologies ” .

As part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for In Utero , DGC gave the album the reissue treatment in several different formats on October 27, 2023 , with a special bonus feature of the full 1993 show at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles and the 1994 show at the Seattle Centre Arena .

As part of the 30th anniversary of Nevermind , in September 2021 , the BBC screened the documentary When Nirvana Came to Britain , which featured some great interviews with Grohl and Novoselic .

That same month , a 30th-anniversary special edition of Nevermind was announced , featuring a whopping 70 previously unreleased live tracks from four live shows & a Blu-ray of Live in Amsterdam .

Then in January 2020 , Novoselic and Grohl reunited for a performance at a benefit for the Art of Elysium at the Hollywood Palladium – with a brilliant lineup of Beck , St Vincent and even Grohl ‘s own daughter Violet making an appearance.

In October 2018 , Novoselic and Grohl teamed up again – this time for the finale of the Cal Jam festival at the Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino County , California . Jett and John McCauley joined in on vocals for the final performance.

Fast forward to 2016 and Clive Davis ‘ annual pre-Grammy party , where Novoselic and Grohl reunited to perform a fantastic rendition of David Bowie ‘s ” The Man Who Sold the World ” ( a song that Nirvana had covered in their MTV Unplugged show a while back ) . Beck even joined in on the action , playing a beautiful acoustic guitar part and lending his vocals to the mix.

When Nirvana was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 , Novoselic made a point to thank Silver for introducing them to the music industry all those years ago in his speech

In 2014 , Cobain Novoselic, and Grohl had the honour of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – a pretty big deal . At the induction bash , Novoselic , Grohl and Smear took to the stage for a whirlwind four song set with a load of fantastic guest vocalists – Joan Jett , Kim Gordon , St Vincent and Lorde . The trio then headed to Brooklyn ‘s St. Vitus Bar for a full show with a fantastic bunch of guest vocalists – Jett , Gordon , St Vincent , J Mascis & John McCauley on hand to lend a vocal on a few tracks. Grohl took the time to thank Burckhard , Crover , Peters and Channing for their time in Nirvana , and Everman was also spotted in the crowd .
