Welch later stated in a September 2023 interview that a release of new material in 2024 was likely: “Yeah, [there will be] new music coming out next year. I don’t know. We’re just kind of in hiding right now, just doing our own thing.”
The band began teasing an upcoming remix album, Re: This Is Why in late September 2023, posting audio snippets from the album on their official Discord server.
The first single – the title track “Danse Macabre” – was released on 30 August 2023. The second single, “Black Moonlight”, followed on 21 September.
However, on 24 August, Sykes announced via a statement on his social media that the release was being delayed due to “unforeseen circumstances” which had left the band “unable to complete the record to the standard we’d be happy with”.
Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo and Osaka on 19 and 20 August.
The band also performed live in Indonesia for the first time on August 18.
