The band released a vinyl box set consisting of their six studio albums, their rarities album, and the previously unreleased Live from the Crystal Palace for Record Store Day 2014.
In 2014, its first year of eligibility, Nine Inch Nails was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with 14 other candidates.
During the month of August in 2014, the band celebrated the 15th anniversary of their debut album, Gauze . During this time, they embarked on a Japanese tour titled Tour14 Psychonnect: Mode of “Gauze”? , similarly named after the tour they held back in 1999 in support of the album.
