While attending Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School in Rockville, Maryland, in 1996, they formed O.A.R. and recruited additional band members Richard On and Benj Gershman. The band name came from a story Roberge wrote at age 16; the name is not political and refers to a “musical revolution”.
