The album was followed on November 17, 1998, by the release of their first single, ” You Get What You Give ” (co-written with Rick Nowels ), which reached No. 36 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 , No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart , and No. 1 on the RPM Canadian Singles Chart. The song received heavy radio airplay and rotation on MTV and much media attention.
