Lee called former Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo , with whom Evanescence had toured, to replace Moody on the Fallen tour. Balsamo soon joined Evanescence as the permanent lead guitarist. She and Balsamo “clicked” and “connected on a lot of musical interests”. The band played several shows with Korn in Europe, with Evanescence originally set to headline however Lee wanted Korn to headline instead. Fallen ‘ s third single “My Immortal” was released on December 8, 2003, and peaked at number seven on the US Hot 100 and the UK singles chart.
