UMG to purchase DreamWorks Records

In November 2003, Universal Music Group (UMG) agreed to purchase DreamWorks Records from DreamWorks Pictures for roughly $100 million. The label was eventually shut down in January 2005, and during 2004, many DreamWorks artists were reassigned to different labels at UMG.
