Depeche Mode’s origins date to 1977, when schoolmates Vince Clarke and Andy Fletcher formed a band called No Romance in China with Clarke on vocals and guitar and Fletcher on bass.
James Gunn , a St. Louis native, planned to feature the band in the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy , but ultimately decided to stay with a mix of 1970’s music.
